HST Facilities conform to the SSS Network Operating Standard
Introduction
Hyperbaric Services Thailand Co., Ltd. is
proud to be part of the Sub-aquatic Safety Services (SSS) international recompression chamber network based in Texas (USA).
The network currently links eleven chambers worldwide. Standards and procedures, maintenance, upgrades, training and staffing levels are all governed by SSS policy.
By being party of the SSS Network you are assured that our
facilities in Thailand are of the highest standard.
To date the network of chambers has treated slightly over 2000 recreational divers that would otherwise have been untreated, or had their treatment delayed until after they were air evacuated, (after substantial delays and at a huge expense).
In Thailand, 800,000 Plus US$ has been invested in your chambers and as such, our facilites are world class.
We have created a saftey net across southern Thailand and continue to improve it. In effect our technical, medical & language expertise is your only insurance against receiving the best recompresion medical coverage available in Thailand.
Technical
Standards
The Phuket Facility
Our Phuket chamber is a multi place twin lock system with large rectangular doors to facilitate the entry of patients in wheelchairs or on stretchers.
It has a depth rating of 50 msw and the provision for air recompression using hyperbaric oxygen or mixed gas therapy for 2-3 patients.
The medical lock is large enough to supply all needs during treatment without using the
entrylock.
A pressurized fire deluge system has been fitted to the main lock to cover the unlikely possibility of a fire in the chamber.
The Samui Facility
Our Samui chamber is a multi place twin lock system with large circular doors to facilitate the entry of patients. It has a depth rating of 50 msw and the provision for air recompression using hyperbaric oxygen or mixed gas therapy for 1 patient.
Standard to Both Facilities
Environmental monitoring is done by a Teledyne oxygen analyzer, digital temperature indicators and highly accurate precision analogue depth gauges.
Communication is via a twin lock voice chamber communicator and a closed circuit video monitor as well as air phones.
Lighting is by cold light tubes which allows for even illumination while keeping the electrical source out of the chamber.
Third Party Inspections
To ensure that SSS, DAN and International standards have been reached and maintained Mr. Bob Ramsay, (Head Hyperbaric Technician, Royal Adelaide Hospital, South Australia, and DAN SEAP Vice President visited the Phuket Hyperbaric Facility in 1998. To that end he inspected, tested and verified that all the changes and upgrades met or exceeded the specified standards.
At the completion of his inspection he held a seminar to announce his findings to the locally based diving community and answer any questions regarding the operational standards and procedures of the facility.
In 1999 the chamber passed inspections by Lexmar engineering - Singapore, Prof. Ramiro Cali-Corleo Dan - Europe and Mr. Ruben Campuzano - College of Oceaneering, Los Angeles.
The complete systems now comply with the best world practice and standards.
In 2001 our Chambers were passed inspected by FRANCOIS BURMAN, DAN SA, who is also the editor of a field guide for risk assessment of recompression chambers.
In 2002 our Chambers again passed inspected by FRANCOIS BURMAN, DAN SA.
